Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most common questions about merchant cash advances and how Big Cat Capital Group works.
A merchant cash advance (MCA) is a purchase of a portion of your business's future receivables in exchange for upfront capital. It's a commercial financing product, not a traditional loan, and repayment is typically collected through automatic daily or weekly ACH withdrawals from your business bank account.
Often, yes. Most of our clients come to us after a bank rejection or a decision timeline that didn't work for their business. Because we underwrite based on your business's revenue and deposit history rather than a strict credit-score cutoff, businesses that don't fit a bank's criteria frequently still qualify here — and hear back in about a day instead of weeks.
Funding amounts generally range from $25,000 to $2,000,000, depending on your average monthly revenue, time in business, and overall deposit history. A funding specialist will review your bank statements to determine what your business qualifies for.
Because we're pricing for speed and access, not just rate. A merchant cash advance skips the collateral requirements, extensive documentation, and multi-week underwriting a bank uses to justify its lower cost — so it will almost always cost more than a traditional bank loan. If your business can qualify for and wait on a bank loan, that's usually the cheaper path. If a bank has already said no, or the timeline doesn't work for you, we think the trade-off is worth being upfront about — which is why your factor rate and total payback amount are shown clearly before you sign anything.
No. Checking your eligibility and reviewing offer options does not require a hard credit pull and will not impact your personal credit score.
A factor rate is a fixed multiplier (commonly between 1.10 and 1.49) applied to your advance amount to calculate your total payback amount. For example, a $100,000 advance with a 1.25 factor rate results in a $125,000 payback amount. Unlike an interest rate, the factor rate does not change over the life of the advance.
Repayment is collected automatically via ACH withdrawal. A fixed amount is debited directly from your business bank account on a daily or weekly basis until the total payback amount is satisfied — there's no need to manually send a payment.
Not necessarily. We understand many business owners have less-than-perfect personal credit. Approval is based primarily on your business's revenue and deposit history rather than your personal FICO score.
Most applicants receive a decision within one business day, and funds are typically deposited within 24–48 hours of signing your agreement.
Typically, you'll need 3–6 months of recent business bank statements, a completed application, and basic business information. Additional documents may be requested depending on your industry and funding amount.
Many agreements offer early payoff discounts. Ask your funding specialist about early payment terms before signing, as they vary by offer.
We work with a wide range of industries and business sizes — restaurants, retail, trucking and transportation, medical and dental practices, construction, professional services, and more. Whether you're a solo operator or run a multi-location business, what matters most to us is consistent revenue, not your industry or size.
